"It's fine, since you already know our hide out." Noah said, frustrated, and he turned to James: "Traitor."

"We had to flee and hide after murdering someone." James explained with his mouth full. Noah's eyes shot back to the woman.

Saoirse sighed. "We didn't murder anyone," she said. "I mean, I know that sounds even more suspicious with me saying that, but..." She shrugged, trying to find the words to explain what actually happened.

"Noone died. The kid hit some man who was harrassing me over the head with a rock, guy was knocked out. I told him he was dead so that he wouldn't do that again."

"Oh..." The teenager seemed to process that for a moment and then turned to his younger brother. "Stop gettin' in trouble."

"She gave me food."

"Shut up." He turned back to Saoirse. "Why'd you do that?"

"Gave him the food, or told him that he killed a man? If the latter, then I just told you, but if the former then it's because he asked me to." Saoirse was trying her damnedest to remain polite, but it was kind of hard, now.

"Stop asking strangers for things." Noah scolded his little brother. He turned back to Saoirse. "We don't need you. I'm lookin' after him just fine."

"You're kind of bad at it." James commented with his mouth full.

Saoirse tried to keep a straight face. "If you say so," she shrugged. "I have no qualms against just leaving, if you don't want me to stick around or do anything here, anymore."

"Yeah, you should go. But if you tell anyone of this place, I'll slit your throat." Noah said, stepping towards the woman and trying to look intimidating.

James took his food and moved back a little. "You're gonna get your ass beat again."

Saoirse was left unimpressed by his threat. She crossed her arms and looked down at him, trying to also seem intimidating, though it was made more difficult by the fact that she was also trying to hold back laughter. "Don't threaten me."

That did not have the intended effect. "Well... Don't tell anyone about this place. Or you'll regret it."

"She's my friend, Noah," his little brother argued.

"I wasn't planning on doing so, anyway," Saoirse defended herself. She smiled smugly as she heard the other kid argue in favor of her.
