The girl started shouting for help. Oh no. How was he going to talk himself out of here? "YES!" he tried to outshout the girl. "YES THEY ARE OPEN BUT YOU HAVE TO BE QUICK! IT"S THAT WAY!" He pointed left along the beach.

Steve saw this as his chance. Forget the girl! He had been seen anyway, he darted out of the cave, still smelling of urine, and ran towards his boat.
Then he screamed and pulled at his hair when he realized he had forgotten to tie it and the rising water had carried it out into sea.

And Pearl was left, bruised and wondering what in the world had just happened. Was that... piss she smelled? She took her chances too and ran for the safety of home.
