Gabriel decided to stay quiet. Talking to the man seemed to only result in arguments. He waited.

It made sense that Anthony's efforts to try and be civil were left unappreciated. He didn't think about it for too long. Instead, he just kept staring at the water in silence. But that didn't last for too long. "Wonder when the tide's gonna go out," he mused out loud, because that was a very necessary thing to say.

Weirdo, Gabriel thought to himself. Ugh, he was cold and he just wanted to go home.
And at last, they were able to see the beach, every time the water withdrew.

Anthony genuinely looked very excited once he realized that he could finally see the beach. "Look! D'you see that?" he pointed as soon as the water withdrew, again.
