RE: Goodbye and thank you - Anthony Rowe - 04-30-2021

"You should watch where you're going," Anthony offered some much-desired advice. He was feeling some very delightful schadenfreude over this, and had a hard time trying to hide that. "shouldn't go picking fights with lanterns if you don't want to get hurt."

Tristan felt humiliated and hurt enough without Anthony's mocking him. "Yeah, alright. I'm an idiot!" He had considered letting the guy go, and he had already let go of the arm, but now he tried to grab it again, so he could bring this guy to the police office for spite.

"At least you're self-aware..." commented Anthony, and extended his arm for the man to grab, as he could not care less about the whole police thing. He was just very glad and pleased that he managed to contribute to Tristan's feelings of humiliation. "that's more than most can say."

"Like you?" Tristan challenged. He was still dizzy and his head hurt, but he began to pull the obnoxious thief along again, even though he hardly needed forcing.

Anthony's smugness was very hard to miss. "Maybe. But I like to think that I'm fairly self-aware," he shrugged as he walked alongside the other.

"Well, then you just have no shame," said Tristan, feeling more and more irritated. His head hurt. He didn't want to deal with this twit's attitude.

"My, what an observant man you are," Anthony deadpanned. He was getting a bit bored—the other man was so predictable that he found himself hoping they'd reach the station quicker, just so things would get a bit more exciting.

He was getting more irritated, but he suddenly realized that he was approaching this the wrong way. Back in the asylum there had been some patients who were particularly antagonistic, and the best approach had been not to engage. Tristan therefore kept his mouth shut and walked quietly besides the thief, looking around and trying to figure out where the police station was.

Anthony's smugness was waning and he too was getting a bit irritated. "Can't you walk a bit faster?" This was getting even more boring now, and all he wanted was for them to just get to their destination already.

Oh it was hard not to engage. How annoying could a person be. But Tristan kept his mouth sealed and continued walking at the same pace as if he had not heard the man.
