RE: Who says times are hard? - Anthony Rowe - 03-05-2020

"Nahhh," Anthony responded, as if it was a thing to be proud of. Even if he did have an actual job and life and things to do, following this guy for whatever amount of time isn't going to interrupt or bother those things at all.

"Then ye shouldn't be wastin' yer money on t' drink," the older man grunted. God, he hated drunks.

RE: Who says times are hard? - Anthony Rowe - 03-05-2020

"It doesn't maaatteeeer," Anthony said, because clearly leeching off your friends is morally superior to using your own money. "because...my friends have lots of money. So it's okay." That was just...incredibly false, but whatever.

A poor man with rich friends who was wasting his 'friends'' money on alcohol. He had seen that before. Ben felt sick.

He suddenly stopped walking. "Ye could get an honest job. Ye don't need to toss away yer life like this."

RE: Who says times are hard? - Anthony Rowe - 03-05-2020

Anthony had to take some time to process what the man had said.

"What?" he said out of pure instinct, furrowing his brows, before laughing awkwardly. "Yes, I do." What the man had said had actually made him think for a little bit, and he did not like that.

"There's small jobs to be done 'ere an' there, if ye get up in time for it. Ye don't need yer rich friends." Ben said. Admittedly, some part of his was not merely irritated, but disgusted by the man in front of him. But if he could say or do anything to help this young man make better choices than Simon had made...

RE: Who says times are hard? - Anthony Rowe - 03-05-2020

"But...I do need them," Anthony said. To be fair, none of his friends were even remotely close to being rich, but most of them certainly had more money than him. How was he supposed to survive if he can't just borrow mony from them or anything else? Surely those small jobs won't get him enough money. ...Anthony's head hurt. He really should get another drink soon.

"There's better ways of earnin' a livin'. Ways that give ye some self-respect, so ye don't feel like ye have to go drinkin'." Yeah, they totally understood one another.

RE: Who says times are hard? - Anthony Rowe - 03-05-2020

While it was true that Anthony had absolutely no self-respect, he was still offended by this guy saying that. "Just because I....drink doesn't mean that that's true," he said, trying very hard to form a coherent sentence but finding it really difficult to do so.

RE: Who says times are hard? - Benjamin Ward - 03-05-2020

"What?" Ben wasn't sure what the man was referring to. He shook his head. "Look. Get a decent job and stop wastin' yer money on drink. It makes people do bad things."
