He simply nodded quietly as he strolled beside him. "That makes sense. I guess, when life is hard... There s no point in thinking of the future if it doesn't feel more guaranteed." He felt all the more protective of Anthony as he considered that.

That definitely hit a bit too close to home. "...Yeah," he nodded, walking alongside Elijah. "not much point in thinking about the future when you're not even sure you'll have one."
He paused. "I guesa I'll have to start thinking, now."

Elijah smiled and nudged him delicately as they walked. "You don't have to think about it too hard. I like enjoying things day by day when I can. Sometimes the future is very scary."

"Yeah, it is," Anthony agreed, smiling at the nudge. "but I'm willing to think hard, actually. Now that I've probably got at least a bit of a future." Maybe he was being too optimistic, but...

There was a small chuckle and he smiled more. "Well... I hope you have a long future, one I could be at least a part of.." He wanted to hold his hand but still walked close to him and hugged his coat close.

Anthony had already mostly made peace with the fact that he probably won't live past age 35, but a long future seemed....fine. "I hope so too, you know," he said, flashing a brief smile towards Elijah.

Elijah smiled huge and glanced at him. "I am glad.. you feel at home with me. Perhaps one day, it will be your home."

"Perhaps one day," Anthony nodded in agreement. He wasn't sure if that day would even be anytime soon, but he was definitely looking fotward to it. He sighed, content.

Elijah nodded, "Just hearing you considering it makes my heart beat faster." He chuckled and looked down embarrassed, rubbing the back of his neck.

Anthony was fairly certain that he was blushing, now. "Oh. Well. Should I be sorry or glad?" he asked with a brief laugh to finish off his sentence.
