Ellie blushed at the compliment, but smiled because it was true. She was bright, and had been reasonable at schoolwork, but it was a matter of her family's need for money that had put her to work.

Christine smiled towards the girl as she relaxed in her seat and seemed to think. "Perhaps, I should get you some papers and pens. You might like to write in your free time. It is good to get one's thoughts out, and maybe you could write something as good as this." She said gesturing towards the book in front of her. "Even if not, it will give you something to work with and could only help you improve your vocabulary and way with words."
