Her father was a very miserly man who was so cheap he did not pay for medicine when her mother fell ill. The woman died when she was a child and it seemed to spur her father's cheapness only further. She lived in misery with barely a roof over her head and always on the edge of starvation.
The only things her father truly cared about was education and his precious books. He raised her to be educated at home when he wasn't at university. His treasured books were kept secured and safe so that nothing could happen as many were rare and very valuable. He died three years ago, struck by a runaway carriage. Finding herself with a small fortune and a far greater one in books, she finally has found herself living a life she wants. The best part is she opened a book store to sell the books her father loved so much, eager to get rid of all of them. |
