Tom grew up in a tent in the cold winters of 1859. He has no idea where about his family were located at the time but he was born in a cold canvas tent with fresh winter snow on the ground outside his tent.
He grew up travelling all over the uk. He wasn't lucky enough to go to school and would be picked on for his lifestyle. His father taught him his trade from a young age and he would be earning money while kids were studying. His father also taught him to box bare knuckled and would fight for money regularly.
When he was old enough he got his own tent and would travel with his family around the UK sweeping chimneys and boxing to make money. Both toms saved up money and both bought wagons to live in to move away from the tents but his father would pass away not long after it along with his mother due to pneumonia and be burnt in thier wagons. |
