He hoped her sister wouldn't think it was strange that he, a man of advancing years, had proposed to Percy and been accepted. The last thing he wanted was for there to be strange feelings. He wasn't so much worried if her parents liked him because they didn't really matter much in the equation other than formalities. Percy had seemed to make it clear that she wasn't much concerned about her parents either... she was more worried about seeing her sister. Don wanted very much for Percy's sister to accept him because her opinion mattered. "I have some business to attend to while I am in town," he murmured absently, staring at her as a beam of light filtered in through a window and cast a glow about her. She looked like an angel.

Persephone noticed Donald was staring at her and blushed, tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear in a bashful motion. "What sort of business?" she asked, hoping to continue on a conversation as they waited for the train. A whistle blew in the distance, most likely an approaching train (hopefully theirs), and a light breeze swept through this open side of the station. Persephone brushed aside tendrils of her hair that blew in her face as she waited for an answer, but when this came to no avail, she rummaged through her messenger bag in a manner careful not to move things too out-of-place and drew out a blue hair ribbon. When she tied her hair up in a bun, it brought out the color of her eyes, and a young man around Persephone's age whistled at her as he swept the station floor. She laughed as he winked at her and she called, "Really, Devon?" As Donald most likely didn't know the young man, she murmured to her fiance, "My cousin, twice-removed."

"I will tell you soon enough," he said, looking at his fingernails as he spoke. He looked up when he heard the man whistle at his fiance, got a little jealous, and was about to puff his chest out until she said the man was related to her and the fact that she reacted with no amount of flirtation that he could see. "I see," he rumbled a little, which somewhat showed that he had, in fact, been affected by the antics of another, however slight it might be.

Persephone felt a little smile grow on her face at Donald's clear jealousy. He'd brushed it away when she said Devon was her cousin twice-removed, but she could still tell it had affected him and she found it endearing, in a way. It was sweet that already he was protecting their relationship, but secretly she hoped he wasn't the generally jealous sort who'd get a bit too heated for their own good when it came to the things they loved. Did he love her? Persephone wasn't sure, but she had a feeling she'd know soon. In truth, she'd thought over her feelings toward her fiance over the evening they'd been apart and had come to realize she was certainly attracted to and endeared by him, but she simply couldn't tell if she loved him yet.

Donald peered at Percy and smiled when he noticed her smile. While he had been jealous, it had been fleeting. Seeing her react like it was a normal thing instead of flirtation had relaxed him. He wasn't worried too much about it because she didn't seem interested, and he trusted her for it all the more. "I am glad to see that you are excited to see your sister. I did send word last night that we would be there soon, so hopefully it won't be a surprise to your parents."

Persephone nodded. A whistle blew again in the distance, much nearer now, and she could hear the roaring of the engines of the approaching train. "I'm sure your message arrived in good time. On the slim chance there was a mishap and we arrive unannounced, I am certain I could put in a quick word with my parents explaining our relationship and they would be glad to have us stay a few days."

"I would be happy to stay a few days in London," he said and offered an arm, standing up. "I am sure that must be our train arriving now. We have made it with a few minutes to spare." The man grinned, using any excuse to walk with her on his arm like that, for it made him feel younger and happier. She was a delight to him.

Persephone gladly took his arm, and when she did, she noticed how he seemed to brighten up a little. It was quite sweet, and she blushed just the slightest as they began to walk. The train pulled into the station, the puffs of white steam all around it creating an almost-magical ambience, and Persephone felt a pep in her step as they gave their bags (except her messenger, she kept that) to a porter. Once they were at a door to enter, Persephone had Donald give her a hand up the steep steps (she hadn't gotten around to buying those flat-footed boots yet and still wore heeled ones) and smiled as they stood at rather close quarters inside the narrow hallway. "Where to?" she asked, not knowing what class Donald had booked tickets for them in. She didn't have a preference at all, just so long as they had a window she could watch the scenery out of.

He soon led her onto the train and down the hallway into a car that was shared with the public. He escorted her to a seat after that and waited for her to sit first. Assuming she did, he sat across from her and pulled out a newspaper, setting that next to him for the quiet moments since he knew they would have some. "Here we are."

Persephone sat and spread out her skirts a little to make herself more comfortable as Donald sat down across from her. He pulled out a newspaper, but then placed it beside him on the seat and Persephone guessed he wanted to continue their conversation. "Thank you for this, Donald," she said softly, her smile light, "it really means a lot that you've arranged all this for us."
