"Useless? Hardly." Saoirse smiled, pleased with her snarky comebacks, letting her guard down for a brief moment. This would've almost been her downfall, as she only saw the stick thrown at her direction a moment too late, but—thank god—it missed her by a bit. Turning her head to the direction of the stick and just blinking in surprise for a few moments, she looked at it, before shaking her head and turning to face the direction the man was again.

"Assaulting a lady won't do you any good," she pointed out, her voice wavering for only a brief moment. Here's to hoping the asshole broke all his legs and his neck and is also dead.

"Get off the roof!" He shouted. The roof that had already been damaged by Harry's own efforts to amend the situation.
"Da'. Leave her! We're gunna get in trouble!" the girl by his side begged.
"Get inside, Ruth!" Harry shouted.
"I'm not Ruth!"

Though usually Saoirse would have taken pity and just left, she had already had things thrown at her and been threatened with a fire-poker, so she felt it was right to stay on the roof out of pure spite. She couldn't help but observe the interaction between the girl and the man with great interest, however.

"Why's she gotta go inside? Nothing dangerous out here." Though it could have seemed that her question was borne out of simply wanting to start another fight, there was genuine curiosity behind it. There ain't nothing here that's dangerous or unsafe. Except the man himself.

"Ye mind yer own bloody business and sod off!" Harry shouted. "I'm done! I'm getting the coppers!" And he walked away, stumbling a little. But in fact, he just intended to go to the pub and hope she would be gone when he returned. The girl looked from her father to the woman and shrugged.

Honestly, was Saoirse really expecting the man to respond in a civil way? No, not really. She had expected nothing and was still disappointed. Looking at the man, then to the girl, she shrugged as well. "Well, have fun with that," she called after the man. It's not like she had planned to stay on this rooftop for a long time anyways—she'd be gone before the so-called cops would arrive. With another shrug, she opened her notebook again, writing something down.
