Andrew had been busy for days... It seemed that he had locked down an account with the Carringtons, an honor reserved for the best of the best apparently, which he was grateful for. Everything was overwhelming, for he had also just worked it out with one of the teachers at a nearby school that he would do some of the baking for the kids there since a lot of them didn't get lucky enough to eat breakfast in the morning and it was a serious problem in his eyes.

Uriel had already stopped by already to grab the basket of day olds and the fresh rolls Andrew had set aside for the school, and now he was wondering if his new friend could talk the surly butcher into shelling out unwanted cuts of meat so the kids could have lunch with more than just meat. One thing Andrew could say about Uriel is that he was not someone who sat down while others suffered. Neither can I, thought Andrew.

He finished sticking the Carrington order into the ovens, and then he was tiredly arranging pastries for the first customers to come in. He frowned and wondered if he needed to hire someone or if he should keep going solo until he knew for sure he could afford to pay the wages to someone to help him out. He hadn't expected to be slammed with orders within weeks of opening the bakery, but it was a smaller town and word of mouth was everything.

One of his new regulars came in, eyed a croissant roll and said, "Is that one of those french pastries with all that butter in it?"

"Yes, Sir. Croissant, butter laminated. Fresh out of the oven. Help yourself to one and see if you like it." The old man took one and took a healthy bite of the pastry before sighing in pleasure. "I will take half of one dozen of these, and I shall get my usual loaf of plain bread too. Might I also get...." he paused and squinted at one of the cookies that had jam in it, and pointed, "Six of those biscuits too?"

Andrew packaged the pastries up and named the price, which the old man slowly and shakily paid for and was on his way. There were people like the old man who came in and bought from the shelves, and there were others who came in and asked for bulk, and that part was where the work really came in.

He sighed and went to the back for a moment, only to return and to tack a help wanted notice on the door.

Elizabeth had finished her work at her parents bakery for the day, she began to clean up the store while her parents worked out the income of the day. She wanted to get out and about so she finished cleaning up and get changed into her normal clothing.

After all she would not been seen out and about without her red gown and bonnet. She walked the town with a smile on her face, yet soon her smile faded as she saw one of the other bakers in town putting a help wanted sign out.

She knew how much hard work baking could be and it was sad to see someone struggling and needing help.

Good day to you.” Elizabeth began friendly “ It good to meet a fellow baker."

If anyone would have called him struggling, he wouldn't have agreed. The shop was thriving, he just didn't have enough hands to bake all the bread himself. That not being a thought in his head at the moment, Andrew was working on sweeping the already immaculate floor when a young miss came in and greeted him. He almost frowned when she said she was a baker too. "It is a pleasure," he said instead.
