Elijah watched and smiled slightly. "Sounds like you have a lot going on. You understand mistakes and imperfection. I think you can be great for the kids. You know not to jump to conclusions and will be a good mentor once you cut your teeth in it. But if you ever need someone to talk to, you can always try to find me. I don't have answers, but I've always got an open ear."

"I am trying my best here but it's not enough," he said. He truly was already a his wits end with Ed even though they just started the year.

Elijah sighed. "I know it is very difficult. The best you can do is perhaps,if these ideas of yours don't work.. Is to ignore him. He will probably try to skip classes soon enough anyway. But you could help turn his life around since you care. But don't let the stress get to you. It's unhealthy and you clearly have a lot on your plate."

"Thank you," he murmured quietly. "I appreciate that you came to talk to me at all." And he was being honest.

Elijah smiled. "I want to help. It isn't just part of the job. I want to help you. I want to help Ed. I want to help everyone.'

"Seems as though were kindred in that regard," he drawled out. "It's nice to know I am not alone in that."

Elijah nodded and smiled softly. "Nice to know we are not alone in our struggles. If you need help, don't fear asking."

"Same to you, friend." It was odd to feel a spark of something as far as kindred spirits went... He was not sure how he felt about finally having someone take him seriously that wasn't Kitty. It was just plain odd.

Elijah nodded and smiled to him. "I should let you get back to business. Just don't hesitate to come to me if needed. I'm usually not hard to find."

He stood and then would escort the constable to the door. "Well, I most certainly will consider it, and you are welcome to come by in general."
