It was the last day of school before the Christmas break and James had decided not to go, because, well, he hadn't gone for the rest of the year either, and he didn't want to confuse the teacher with his existence on what should probably be a happy day for him. Instead, James was working on his favourite project: bullying people, tourists preferably. The tide was out and James had covered himself with the seaweed that lay scattered across the beach. Now, he was hiding behind a bend in the cliff. When he heard footsteps approach, he waited and then ran out, waving his seaweed covered arms: "BLUUUUUUHAAAAAAAGH!"

Saoirse was simply taking a walk along the beach, searching for 'inspiration'. And she had found none. Truly, she didn't understand how some writers could speak of sunsets and beaches and nature giving them inspiration, when those all were so incredibly dull and boring and the opposite of inspiring for her.

At least there was something to stop the monotony. Though she was initially quite shocked at...whatever that was, the initial surprise wore off rather quickly. She chose to not ruin this child's fun, though, and recoiled, trying to seem genuinely very surprised and startled.

Entirely unaware that the woman was faking her reaction, James congratulated himself on his success. He took some of the seaweed off his head, to expose his face. Then, still mostly covered in the wet green strands, he pointed at the lady and laughed.

Saoirse was not the best actor, though, and after some time her little façade became transparent. Though she would have usually been against such things like what the boy was doing, she knew that this was just a kid having fun, and so she was obligated to encourage the behavior. "Nice one."

James was surprised that the woman wasn't angry and actually complimented him on his little prank. "Thank you," he said with a proud grin. He took some more pieces of wet seaweed off his small body. Oh... that was actually quite cold, for it had made him wet and the wind was cold.

Saoirse just watched with morbid curiosity as the boy took off the...pieces of seaweed. That must've been pretty uncomfortable, having wet seaweed on your body in this weather. Kid must've been pretty dedicated to this prank. "You're welcome." She just kind of made a face as she tried to consider whether or not to show concern. "Ain't all that...a bit uncomfortable, though? Not to criticize your little prank, but I think there's a better way to do it." Was she talking to this child as if he were an adult? Absolutely. It was needed, in this situation.

"Aye, its a bit cold..." the boy admitted sheepishly. As he took more seaweed off his body, exposing his moist clothes to the elements, he started regretting his prank. "Were you scared though?" he asked, as if that one comfort would make it all worth it.

Saoirse was a bit concerned for the kid's health, now. She was hoping that he wouldn't get sick from this or anything. "It was very scary," she nodded, as if to confirm her statement, despite the fact that it was fundamentally untrue.

James forgot the cold for a moment and beamed with pride. "Are you a tourist?" Extra points for that.

Saoirse shook her head no. "No. I live here," she said, briefly returning the smile for a moment.
