Anthony didn't even know whether to be offended or not. However, what he did know was that being seen as a child was much better than being seen as an actual thirty year old man who acted like this. "No need," he shrugged.

Charles raised an eyebrow. That could either be a sulky teenage respond, or be because the man was indeed a grown up. Sort of. He put his hands behind his back and started pacing, deciding to just wait in silence for the constable.

Anthony leaned back in his seat, and sighed loudly. Was the constable ever even gonna come here or not? He was almost even hoping for the former, because he was just really that bored. He watched the man pace, as he had nothing better to do. "You good?"

"Been better." Charles said. Like when he didn't deal with twats. Then again, his job consisted of looking after twats.

"Hm. Yeah, I can tell," Anthony said, still watching the man. He briefly considered just up and walking away, but ultimately decided against it. "aren't you, like, tired of waiting here doing nothing?" he said, trying to keep the conversation alive.

"It's my duty," said Charles. He was getting tired, but he wouldn't tell this man so. "Though it would be nicer if you just stut up."

Out of pure spite, Anthony decided to do everything but shut up. "It's your duty? Your duty is standing around, pacing like a fool and doing nothing for god-knows how long? That's your duty? Must be nice. Must be real nice." He didn't even know what he was going on about, he just kept talking for the sake of it.

Out of pure spite, Charles kept pacing and did not respond.

That suited him just fine. "Silence yet again," Anthony sighed. "am I really so smart and amazing that I leave you speechless all the time?"

This guy was dumb, Charles reflected. If he had kept his mouth shut, he would probably already have let him go and gone back to the workhouse. But now he was determined to get him in trouble. Charles continued his silent pacing.
