RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Anita Longbottom - 02-05-2020

Black hair came out in handfuls, and while the strands were not bloody - it still did not paint a pleasant picture. She let out a pained, helpless sounding noise ... then bit down hard and ground teeth on his sleeved forearm.

She felt some of the constable's weight shift back in Noah's chokehold, let out another pathetic sob... and then used her unpinned hand to try and grab the cuffs away - and if so, use them like a bastardized bola at his face.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Elijah Crane - 02-05-2020

Yes, this was torture. He screamed as he felt teeth and then an arm around him from Noah that was choking him. He let up on her enough to try to breathe when he was suddenly hit in the face with his own cuffs. This knocked him back and he decided to use the situation to slam his entire weight hard on the table behind him, letting Noah take the fall. His hands were already both up to pull his arm from him, coughing as he caught a lungful of air.

"Your son got a girl pregnant! That's why he was beaten up!" He wasn't keeping promises for the kid any more if he tried to attack him. There was such a thing as decency. He tried to stumble to his feet, ready to take them both to jail, he'd try to keep them conscious but he only had one pair of cuffs.

He wouldn't have even been there except he was depressed and wanted to just spend a little time being miserable. Now he was angry and it was not going to settle any time soon at this rate.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Anthony Rowe - 02-05-2020

Anthony buried his face in his hands. Can he just die already so that this will be over with? "You all are acting like fucking children," he exclaimed out of pure anger and frustration, gesturing vaguely with his hands. Whereas he usually would have been a bit more 'oh noooo Elijah is getting beat up maybe I should help him', he was too tired and drunk to be able to effectively do anything, and honestly, he wasn't even very sure if he wanted to help.

Anthony leaned against the bartop, now, leaning his head back to just stare at the ceiling. "See how this works out for you, you fucking morons," he shouted in their general direction, as if he wasn't on the verge of getting into this fight as well a few moments ago. Can't someone just beat him unconscious so that he won't have to witness this anymore.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Mehmet Gardinier - 02-05-2020

Mehmet stepped in and saw broken glass, hair on the floor, handcuffs, a woman crying, a cop that looked like he was about to cry, and a drunk guy giving a moral lesson for it all.

He stepped out just as fast.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Noah Longbottom - 02-05-2020

Noah slammed into the table, all the air slammed out of his lungs instantly. He did not even respond to Elijah's words, for he was in pain and breathless.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Anita Longbottom - 02-05-2020

The bartender who had been so eager to enlist the constable's help was idly wiping down the counter while someone that was neither Elijah nor Elijah's 'cousin or brother' gulped down the pitcher.

Anita gasped in horror. Noah? Her angel? Get a girl pregnant without proposing first? She turned to look at her son, and stepped back as Crane stumbled to his feet.

"You could have just said so," she mournfully exhaled, hands clenched.

... And the reality of the situation began to hit her.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Elijah Crane - 02-05-2020

Elijah was in shock. Was that it?! He leaned over putting his hands on his knees as he panted. One hand went to his cheek where it was stinging pain and noticed blood. His eyes closed and took a deep breath. "He didn't want you to know. "

He picked up his handcuffs but didn't try to put them on her. "Look, can you and Noah please come with me. You can spend all night together talking it out.. He can't leave, you'll have his full attention?" He said to Anita, really hoping it would sweeten the deal and he wouldn't have to fight them.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Anthony Rowe - 02-05-2020

Anthony noticed the incredible lack of shouting and fighting, now, but he was a bit too tired and pissed to put any effort into keeping up with the situation. First Elijah accused him of cheating, then everyone in this place got super fucking pissed at eachother and started fucking eachother up, and now they're all lovely and making up with eachother and acting as if everything is good now (even though they're all literally fucking injured but who cares about that?). Can Anthony have one good evening without some bullshit like this happening? One fucking evening?

This entire situation was so damn draining and Anthony knew he wasn't of any use here, and just moralizing to himself made him look like a fucking moron, so... he threw his hands up in annoyance, finished Elijah's drink, and just stormed the hell out of the bar without another word. Whatever. If they want to act like a bunch of five year olds then they can, but Anthony wasn't going to do that as well.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Noah Longbottom - 02-05-2020

Noah was now more sore than ever. He got up slowly. "'E's lyin'." he muttered. But he didn't try to run. He wouldn't be able to do so in this state.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Anita Longbottom - 02-05-2020

She'd been on the cusp of running away with Noah and, well, avoiding whatever responsibilities and jail time this fiasco entailed ... but now, well...

Crane was talking, and her son was not.

"Looks like we're talking it out," she said as sweetly as metal grinding rock could.
