RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Rose Willaby - 02-07-2020

"Simon never robbed anyone!" Rose quickly said. "Father jumped to wrong conclusions! He never stole owt! ... Well.. He and Tom once stole crops from a field when they were teenagers. But never money or owt!"

He quickly rose his hands to remind her to keep her voice down as Anthony was asleep. While he was sure the medicine would keep him out  he didn't want to risk waking him either way. "I know. I never believed he stole, you don't need to convince me. That's why I'm confused."

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Rose Willaby - 02-07-2020

There was another theory she had, but it seemed so impossible to believe. And maybe she didn't want to believe it either. "I just thought... He considered you a friend. He might have mentioned Mr. Meijer."

How did Rose not remember the dinner? Oh right. Because she had been paying more attention to his plate and how he was eating their food, than to the gentleman himself.

Elijah smiled sadly. "I only saw him after I came back from York. I don't think it was even six months before.. " his voice died and he looked down. "Well.. ah..he never mentioned his friends. I know he mentioned someone but nothing about who they were just a friend I guess he was hoping to go to York with."

Was this friend more than a friend? Most likely, but he hoped no one else knew anything about this and he couldn't guarantee.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Rose Willaby - 02-07-2020

"Aye, I know he had this friend." Lover. Whom he had in fact betrayed.

Rose began to tremble.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Elijah Crane - 02-07-2020

"Is everything alright? You're shaking..." He grabbed her shoulder and took the teacup out of her hand so it wouldn't drop and break.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Rose Willaby - 02-07-2020

"Y-yeah..." No, surely that couldn't be. That was ridiculous. That git!? And yet all fell in place. Except the fact that Mr. Meijer had hired her. Or had he hired her just to torture her? But he would have been worse. Rose was apparently lost in thought.

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Elijah Crane - 02-07-2020

Elijah frowned and shook her shoulder lightly, "Rose? Do you remember something about Simon?" Though his 'hobbies' were mysterious, the death hadn't bee. What could be bothering her?

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Rose Willaby - 02-07-2020

Rose snapped out of it. She realized she was both sweating and trembling. "N-no... I just... I realized something. I think. But I can't tell you."

RE: Suffering the Slings and Arrows - Elijah Crane - 02-07-2020

Elijah rose his brow and he looked at her. "What is it? Why can't you tell me? You can tell me anything."
