If the kid was hungry already, who was he to stop him from eating? He would just have to let the other kids who were hungry eat whatever was left of the bread he had brought. He continued to pace the room while engaging with the children with the story. At some point, he did take his paperweight and stick it absently on his desk.

Edward slouched back as he dug into the bag and began to eat in the middle of class. He seemed quite pleased with himself.

Bram, meanwhile, was still listening. But at some point, his attention began to drift and he looked back at what Ed was doing.

Uriel was feeling tired already and wanting to turn to drink, but he could not and would not do so. Not while he had to be a good example for all of the kids. But one good thing was Ed being distracted by food and acting like it was his idea, that was a small win for the moment. It was keeping the kid occupied at least for the moment. He went on to finish the story.

Ed let the man speak as he didn't care. He was munching quietly on an apple and looking somewhat subdued for the time being. When the bag was empty he crumpled it up and threw it towards a bin and leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes.

When Ed leaned back, Bram leaned back as well.
